Hood College women’s golf won its second straight fall match Sunday, finishing first in the five-team McDaniel Fall Invitational at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbotstown, Pennsylvania. Hood posted a team score of 356, finishing 17 strokes ahead of Franklin & Marshall.
Olivia Kamieniarz led Hood with a second-place finish after shooting an 82. Sarah Wang of Franklin & Marshall won the individual competition with a 79.
Hood College women’s golf places three in top 10
The Hood College Blazers placed three golfers in the top 10. Kamieniarz finished second, while Keira Corcoran tied for fourth with an 86, and Gabi Miller finished eighth with a 92.
Kamieniarz recorded six pars on the front nine and gained momentum in the second half to avoid big numbers on the scorecard. Corcoran birdied Hole 1 and her solid front nine kept her in contention, while Miller rounded out the top three Blazers in the top 10.
Mia Cheesebrough finished 11th and Sophia Stultz placed 12th. Cheesebrough birdied Hole 17, and Stultz parred the tricky 323-yard sixth hole. These results helped Hood secure the team victory at The Bridges Golf Club.
Hood College women’s golf scheduled for Golden Oaks Shootout
The Blazers are scheduled to compete next in the Golden Oaks Shootout, set for Sept. 27-28 at Golden Oaks Golf Course in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania.
