The Hood College women’s cross country team placed three runners inside the top 25 at the Middle Atlantic Conference preview hosted by Stevenson University in Timonium, Maryland. Sophomore Maya Carey led Hood by finishing fourth overall in 23:47.74.
Carey, from Clarksburg, Maryland, recorded the highest finish by a Hood runner at the meet. Amber Marshall (Berlin, Maryland) crossed the line in 25:40.98, while Rosie Olivar (Beltsville, Maryland) placed 23rd overall in 26:03.06.
Strong Showings Highlight Hood Cross Country Team Performance
Marshall maintained a steady pace throughout the course, delivering a valuable second scoring effort, while Olivar’s consistent effort helped Hood produce three top-25 finishers overall.
Next Competition: Lock Haven Invite
The Hood College women’s cross country team will compete next at the Lock Haven Invite hosted by Lock Haven University on September 26. This follows Carey’s fourth-place individual finish and Hood’s strong team showing at the Middle Atlantic Conference preview.
