Goucher College women’s volleyball fell to Mount Aloysius College, 3-0, on September 12, 2026, at a tri-match hosted by McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. Mount Aloysius College won 26-24, 25-17 and 25-16 in Goucher College’s second match of the tri-match.
Goucher College entered the match with a 3-3 overall record, as did Mount Aloysius College. Goucher College led 14-6 in the opening set and 6-3 in the second before Mount Aloysius College rallied.
Goucher College Women’s Volleyball Builds Early Lead
Alex Dzhygit recorded the first kill of the match as Goucher College established its 14-6 advantage in the opening set. Sofia Ortiz, Azha Evans and Dzhygit added kills during the early run, while Madi Kraemer contributed a service ace.
Mount Aloysius College eventually took a 21-19 lead, but Goucher College answered with three consecutive points, including two blocks from Kanay Parham, to move back in front 22-21. The teams traded points late before Mount Aloysius College scored the final two points after the set was tied at 24-24.
Mount Aloysius College Pulls Away
Goucher College again started quickly in the second set, taking a 6-3 lead behind a kill from Evans and consecutive service aces from Kraemer. Mount Aloysius College responded with nine straight points to take a 12-6 advantage.
Goucher College used an 8-2 stretch, capped by a service ace from Makayla Nasibi, to tie the set at 14-14. Mount Aloysius College then closed the set with a late run to win 25-17.
Mount Aloysius College opened the third set with a 5-0 lead. Goucher College cut the deficit to 19-13 during a four-point run that included a service ace from Alex Jordan, while Evans, Dzhygit and Juliana Stoneberg contributed to the attack before Mount Aloysius College finished the set 25-16.
Azha Evans Leads Goucher College Women’s Volleyball
Evans led Goucher College with eight kills, followed by seven from Dzhygit. Kraemer recorded 13 digs and three service aces, while Ortiz finished with seven assists and Jordan added six assists.
Goucher College finished with 41 digs, compared with 53 for Mount Aloysius College. Mount Aloysius College also held advantages in hitting percentage, .103 to minus-.071; blocks, 5-4; and service aces, 10-8.
Mackenzie Barr led Mount Aloysius College with 13 kills. Loren Stipanovich recorded three blocks, Madison Barr had 14 digs and Kiersten Cummings finished with three service aces.

Goucher College showed its strongest resistance in the opening two sets, building leads before Mount Aloysius College responded. The 26-24 first-set loss came after Goucher College created an eight-point advantage and later held a 22-21 lead.
Goucher College is scheduled to host Gallaudet on Thursday, September 17, at 7 p.m. The match is designated as Goucher College’s Faculty and Staff Appreciation Game.
