Frostburg State Men’s Soccer Earns 1-1 Season-Opening Draw at Lock Haven After Dominic Good Goal

Frostburg State Men’s Soccer opened the 2026 season with a 1-1 draw against Lock Haven on Aug. 27 in Lock Haven, Pa. Dominic Good scored for Frostburg State, which played the final 40 minutes a man down after David Williams received a second yellow card.

Dominic Good Gives Frostburg State Halftime Lead

Frostburg State took a 1-0 lead before halftime when Dominic Good finished a chance at the back post. Inzaghi Harmon assisted on the goal after driving into the box and sending the ball across to Good.

Frostburg State created several other chances in the opening half. Christ Fopossi had a penalty saved by Lock Haven goalkeeper Ethan Beck, while Mateo Cuadros saw an effort go directly at Beck. Fopossi later hit the post with a volley.

Lock Haven Scores After Frostburg State Goes Down a Player

Lock Haven came out with renewed pressure early in the second half, and Frostburg State lost Williams after he received a second yellow card for a high kick. The sending-off left Frostburg State with 10 players for the remaining 40 minutes.

Freshman goalkeeper Julian Quirk kept the Bobcats in front by saving a Lock Haven free kick. Lock Haven eventually equalized during the final quarter hour when a long throw entered the box, deflected off a Frostburg State defender and went past Quirk. Austen Veach was credited with the goal.

Frostburg State nearly regained the lead immediately. Brian Gomez sent a throw into the box, and Fopossi’s volley beat Beck before striking the post. Quirk made another late save to preserve the draw.

Frostburg State and Lock Haven Finish Even in Shots

Both teams recorded 11 total shots and four shots on goal. Lock Haven held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks, but neither team scored again.

Frostburg State and Lock Haven both began the season 0-0-1. Frostburg State will remain on the road for its next match at Ohio Dominican on Aug. 30 at 1:30 p.m.
