The Fredericksburg Nationals defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds 11-0 in the series finale Aug. 30, 2026, in Salisbury, Maryland. The victory was Fredericksburg’s 19th against Delmarva this season, setting a new FredNats record for the most wins against a single opponent.
Fredericksburg Nationals Take Early Lead
The Fredericksburg Nationals scored three runs in the first inning. Coy James led off with a single, advanced to second on an error, stole third and scored on Jordan Williams’ sacrifice fly. Juan Cruz then walked before Hunter Hines hit a home run to straightaway center field.
Williams opened the fifth inning with a leadoff triple and scored on Cruz’s sacrifice fly. Fredericksburg produced its biggest offensive inning in the seventh, scoring five runs after five consecutive batters reached following a leadoff strikeout. Cruz added an RBI double, and Dashyll Tejeda delivered a two-run single.
James led off the eighth inning with a triple, and the Fredericksburg Nationals added another run. Fredericksburg finished with an 11-0 victory over the Delmarva Shorebirds.
Fredericksburg Pitching Completes Shutout
Leodarlyn Colon opened the game and threw two perfect innings. Alexander Meckley followed with 3.2 innings, allowing four hits and four walks while striking out four without allowing a run.
Cooper Carlgren made his professional debut with 1.1 scoreless innings. Tyler Papenbrock threw a scoreless eighth inning, and Kaleb Kantola pitched the ninth to complete Fredericksburg’s third shutout of the series and 12th shutout of the season.
Fredericksburg Nationals Win Series
The victory gave the Fredericksburg Nationals their 12th series win of the season and improved their series record to 12-5-5. Fredericksburg recorded three shutouts during the series against Delmarva.
The final series of the season is scheduled to begin Tuesday against the Wilson Warbirds. First pitch for the series opener is set for 6:05 p.m., while the pitching matchups remain to be determined.
