The Fredericksburg Nationals defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds 9-0 on Aug. 27, 2026, in Salisbury, Maryland, handing Delmarva their second consecutive shutout loss to Fredericksburg. The Shorebirds managed only three hits in the game.
Fredericksburg entered with a 73-49 overall record and a 27-29 head-to-head record against Delmarva, who held a 42-81 overall mark and a 19-38 record in the matchup.
Fredericksburg Builds Early Lead
The Nationals scored three runs in the first inning. Juan Cruz recorded a two-run single before Kevin Made drove in another run on a fielder’s choice.
Cruz added a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning, extending the lead to 4-0. A dropped fly ball in the fifth inning allowed a two-out run to score, pushing Fredericksburg’s advantage to 5-0.
Nationals Add Five Runs
The Nationals increased their lead with a productive seventh inning. Cruz drove in another run with a single, and Cashel Dugger contributed a sacrifice fly to put the score at 7-0.
Kevin Made drove in two runs with an eighth-inning single, finishing with three RBIs to match Cruz’s total in the shutout victory.
