The Frederick Keys defeated the Asheville Tourists (Astros) 6-3 Tuesday night at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium in the first meeting between the two teams. Jaiden Lo Re made an immediate impact in his Frederick Keys debut with a three-run homer and an RBI sacrifice fly.
The victory was Frederick’s 73rd of the 2026 campaign and came during the team’s final regular-season homestand. The Keys also recorded 17 strikeouts as a pitching staff for the second consecutive game.
Jaiden Lo Re Sparks Four-Run First
Asheville took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI sacrifice fly. Frederick responded with four runs in the bottom half, highlighted by Lo Re’s three-run homer.
After a scoreless second inning, Christian Rodriguez struck out the side in the top of the third. The Keys carried a three-run lead through three innings.
Frederick Keys Add Insurance in Fifth
Asheville scored again in the top of the fifth on a throwing error. Frederick answered in the bottom half as Lo Re delivered an RBI sacrifice fly and Leandro Arias added an RBI double.
Those two runs extended the Keys’ lead to 6-2 entering the sixth inning. Both teams were held scoreless in the sixth.
Frederick Keys Secure Series-Opening Win
Chandler Marsh pitched a 1-2-3 top of the seventh inning and recorded the final three outs of the eighth. Asheville scored its third run on a solo homer in the eighth, but Marsh finished the inning strong.
Brendan Parks retired the side in order in the top of the ninth inning to secure the 6-3 victory. The win gave the Frederick Keys a successful start to their final regular-season homestand of the 2026 campaign.
Game two of the six-game series is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. The game will feature “Wag Wednesday,” presented by Mobile Vet Surgery, and “Guaranteed Win Wednesday,” presented by Musket Ridge Golf Course. Dogs attending the game must preregister.
