Former Raven Mosley signs Five-year deal with the Jets
The Baltimore Ravens have lost another linebacker today as inside linebacker C.J. Mosley has signed with the New York Jets. Mosley will get a five-year deal worth $85 million, an average of $17 million a year. This comes a day after Terrell Suggs informed the Ravens that he would not be returning. Suggs signed a one-year $7 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals today. Za’Darius Smith signed with the Green Bay Packers, that story coming soon.
Mosley was originally drafted in the first round with the 17th overall pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2014 NFL draft. The Ravens wanted Mosley back and gave him several offers but at the end of the day the price tag was just too high.
Mosley is a great inside linebacker who has started since day one with the Ravens. Mosley has nine career interceptions and 8.5 career sacks.
The thing that stands out about Mosley is the fact that he is a tackling machine and a very smart defensive player. Mosley called a lot of plays for the Ravens defense and was the player that wore the communication helmet.
The Ravens have linebacker Kenny Young who will likely take Mosley’s place. Young had a solid rookie season and showed starter ability. The Ravens have a rich history of developing talented inside linebackers.
