The Delmarva Shorebirds scored five runs in the first inning and led wire to wire in a 7-3 victory over the Salem RidgeYaks on Aug. 13, 2026, in Salisbury, Maryland. Delmarva entered the game with a 39-72 overall record and a 16-29 record in the series, while Salem entered at 48-61 overall and 23-21.
Delmarva Shorebirds Build Early Lead
Ty Head scored on a wild pitch in the first inning before Jaiden Lo Re tripled home a run. Jhomnardo Reyes then tripled home Lo Re, extending Delmarvas lead to 3-0.
Miguel Rodriguez capped the five-run inning with a two-run home run, giving the Shorebirds a 5-0 advantage heading into the second inning.
The Salem RidgeYaks cut into the deficit when Andruw Musett hit a two-run double in the top of the second. Delmarva answered in the bottom half, with Stiven Martinez driving in a run with a groundout and Lo Re adding an RBI single to restore the five-run lead.
Salem RidgeYaks Score Once After Second-Inning Rally
Delmarva maintained a 7-2 lead until the sixth inning, when Musett hit another run-scoring double. The hit was his second double of the game and brought Salem within four runs.
The Shorebirds held the RidgeYaks scoreless for the rest of the game to preserve the 7-3 victory. Delmarvas five-run first inning remained the difference in the wire-to-wire win.
Delmarva Shorebirds Complete Pitching Effort
Holden deJong and Jake Dykhoff each threw four innings for Delmarva. Dykhoff earned the win in relief and improved to 1-1.
Brendan Parks recorded the final three outs in the ninth inning. Williams Montero took the loss for Salem and fell to 0-2.

The series continues Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, with Harrison Kreiling making his home debut for Delmarva against Leighton Finley of Salem. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
