The D.C. United Foundation raised $299,445 at its fifth annual Golf Classic, presented by Swish, on Monday, September 21, at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. The event brought together 91 golfers, including D.C. United players, front office staff, corporate partners and community supporters. It marked one of the most successful Golf Classics since 2023.
Proceeds will support youth programs and local nonprofits
Proceeds will support youth and adaptive soccer clinics, Soccer & Soar programming, community events and grants to local nonprofits. The funding will help expand opportunities for young people to play, learn and grow while supporting events that provide essential resources to young people, families and leaders across the region.
Those community efforts include the Back to School Bash, Season of Giving, Raise a Toast Awards and Community Days. The Foundation also will direct grants to local nonprofits advancing youth development and family well-being.
Swish served as the presenting partner. Jones Tallent, president of Swish, congratulated the Foundation on raising $300,000 for communities across the DMV and said the company was proud to support work that produces results throughout the year.
D.C. United Foundation reports broad community reach
Over the past year, D.C. United impact initiatives reached more than 100,000 people and provided more than 25,000 households with essential resources, including school supplies, soccer equipment and winter gear. Through its annual Season of Giving, the Foundation provided more than 20,000 meals to individuals and families across the region.
The Foundation has distributed more than 7,500 soccer balls and built 11 mini-pitches across the District. The mini-pitches provide safe and accessible spaces for children to play and enjoy soccer.
Swish was the presenting partner, while immixGroup and NetApp served as Champion Reception sponsors. Capitol Petroleum Group, Carahsoft, Dell Technologies, Four Inc., Lafayette Federal Credit Union and NETSCOUT were listed as hole sponsors, with additional in-kind partners supporting the event.
