Chesapeake Baysox Weekly Recap: Baysox Offense Explodes During Strong Week Against Erie and Akron

The Chesapeake Baysox continued to show why Baltimore Orioles fans remain excited about the organization’s Double-A talent pipeline. Since last Friday, Chesapeake put together one of its best offensive stretches of the season, piling up runs, crushing home runs, and receiving strong performances from several of the Orioles’ emerging prospects. The Baysox entered the week looking to build momentum and largely accomplished that goal with multiple high-scoring victories.

Friday, May 29

Chesapeake 10, Erie 4

The Baysox, playing as the Oyster Catchers, erupted for seven runs in the second inning and never looked back.

Chesapeake’s lineup sent hitter after hitter to the plate during the decisive frame, overwhelming Erie pitching early. The bullpen took over from there and protected the lead comfortably.

Key Performers

  • Anderson De Los Santos drove in runs during the big inning.
  • Chesapeake collected several extra-base hits.
  • The bullpen shut the door late.

Weekend Series Highlights vs. Erie

Several members of the lineup reached base multiple times while the pitching staff kept Akron’s dangerous hitters in check.

The Baysox have shown much better offensive consistency than earlier in the season, one of the biggest reasons the club has started to play better baseball.
