Cheers to a great season Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles season ended last night after they lost to the New York Yankees 3-1. The series was not without a few questionable calls that went the Yankees way, but lets look back and enjoy the Orioles season.
Who would have thought that the 2012 Orioles would win three play off games and renew baseball in Baltimore. Camden Yards was rocking again and the whole city was excited about the Orioles in September and October when historically the only team Baltimore sports fans cared about was the Ravens.
The Orioles have a lot to look forward to next season. For the first time people will not predict them to finish in last place. The Orioles pitching improved throughout the season, and having a young guy Dylan Bundy in the wings only makes the future look brighter.
The defense also was excellent late in the season when Manny Machado burst onto the scenes. Machado played every game since being recalled by the Orioles and played extremely well and was one of the best players in the playoffs.
The Orioles gave fans tons of great memories, they shocked us and we loved every second of it. I personally was not expecting this to come but woke up happy every day that I saw the Orioles with a winning record. Not once during the 2012 season did the Orioles ever fall below .500. This was the season the Orioles got over that hump and really became a team.
Great job Orioles and Thank you. Hopefully next year will be even better with the likings of Nick Markakis and Nolan Reimold healthy for a full season who knows what will happen.
