Caps face the Blackhawks and with their playoff chances fading, John Carlson is set to return
The Washington Capitals, fresh off of a disappointing 7-6 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, welcome the Chicago Blackhawks to town. This game is also set to be John Carlson’s first game back since taking a slapshot to the head. The Caps enter this game 5 points out of a wild card spot.
John Carlson who has not played since the middle of December, when he took a slapshot to the head, is set to return tonight. Carlson is one of the better defensive players the team has, so this is a huge return for them. He also is a big part of the first unit for the power play, so that should be a huge boost as well.
With the season winding down and only 10 games remaining, each game becomes more and more pivotal. The team is in a must win situation with over half of the games remaining in order to possibly get a playoff spot.
