Capitals recall Brown

The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Chris Brown from the Hershey Bears. Brown has a goal and an assist in five games with the Capitals this season.

Brown has played well so far for the Capitals, mostly playing on the fourth line.  Brown has used his size to his advantage and has played very physical.  The Capitals acquired Brown in this trade with the Phoenix Coyotes.

Capitals Recall Brown from Hershey

 

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Chris Brown from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Brown, 23, has registered two points (one goal, one assist) in five games with the Capitals this season. The 6’2”, 215-pound forward scored his first NHL goal on March 22 at San Jose and earned his first NHL assist on March 25 at Los Angeles. Washington acquired Brown with Rostislav Klesla and a fourth-round draft pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft from Phoenix for Martin Erat and John Mitchell on March 4. Brown made his Capitals debut on March 6 at Boston.

Brown scored two goals in three games with Hershey this season and recorded 35 points (14 goals, 21 assists) and 68 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Portland Pirates (AHL). The Flower Mound, Texas, native has registered 84 points (45 goals, 39 assists) and 166 penalty minutes in 122 career AHL games with Portland and Hershey.
