Capitals face the struggling Sharks after winning two in a row

The Washington Capitals have won two games in a row after suffering a very rough start. The Caps have started to find the back of the net, with Tom Wilson getting a shorthanded goal the other night. Dylan Strome who has five goals, also has found the back of the net twice on the power play.

In the teams first four home games, five players are tied for point total with two. John Carlson, Alex Ovechkin, Mathew Philips, Tom Wilson, and Connor McMichael are all tied with one goal and one assist at home. Evgeny Kuznetsov and Tom Wilson are having a competition for who can get more penalty minutes as they are the team leaders with 21 minutes in the sin bin between the two of them.

The goaltending at home, is slightly better than the road numbers. Darcy Kuemper has started three games at home and won two of them. He has a .918% (save percentage) at home and a pretty decent goals against average at 2.53 goals against per game at home. In three games, he has given up a total of eight goals, which overall is not horrendous.

The San Jose Sharks are averaging one goal for per game, and have also yet to win a game this season. This game is going to be a test of attrition because neither the Caps or the Sharks score much.
