Bowie State University Women’s Volleyball Falls to Norfolk State in Three Sets as Payton Swinton Leads Bulldogs. Norfolk State posted a 3-0 victory on Sept. 16 in Norfolk, Va., as the Bowie State Bulldogs lost by set scores of 14-25, 19-25, and 20-25. Payton Swinton led the team with eight kills and 11 points.

Bowie State Women’s Volleyball Match Details

Bowie State recorded 23 kills and a .034 hitting percentage, while Norfolk State finished with 36 kills and hit .239. The Bulldogs added seven service aces and 33 digs but committed 20 attack errors and 10 service errors. Norfolk State held advantages in total blocks, 8-4, and digs, 42-33. Bowie State competed as a Division II team against Norfolk State, a Division I opponent.

Swinton Leads Bulldogs’ Statistical Effort

Swinton added two service aces, five digs, and one solo block to her eight kills and 11 points. Gabrielle Hale recorded 16 assists, five digs, two total blocks, and one service ace. Reece Culver posted a team-high seven digs and added two assists, while Taylor Johnson contributed five kills and five digs.
