Baltimore Ravens Week 4 Preseason Predictions

There is just one preseason game left until M&T Bank Stadium turns into a regular-season crow’s nest filled with screaming fans.

So far, betting sites have had John Harbaugh and the Ravens as favorites in most of their preseason games this season because they know that Harbaugh likes to get a few wins in during exhibition August. So far the Obsidian Birds are 3-0 and it’s likely that they go for an undefeated preseason.

So who’s next to fall before the might of the Ravens?
Baltimore Ravens vs. Washington Redskins
The Ravens gathered into murder and took out the Eagles last week. Although Josh McCown played well, putting up a pair of touchdowns in 192 yards, it wasn’t enough. Trace McSorely also passed for a pair of touchdowns, and he also shoved one in on the ground and then there was the Justin Tucker factor.

On the other side of things, the boys from the capital smoked the Falcons. Week 3 did not turn out well for birds of prey. Matt Ryan only came out for 14 pass attempts and he couldn’t manage to put anything together. The one score that the Falcons got came from Ito Smtih on the ground. Although the Redskins didn’t get a passing touchdown, they were much more effective through the air. Case Keenum put up 101 yards on 14 attempts, and Dwayne Haskins put 74 yards on 13 attempts, which is the same amount of yards as Matty Ice, but on one less attempt.

This could turn into a very good Week 4 game as both second-string offenses have proven they have no problems with production. That said, the people in Vegas listed the Ravens as 3-point favorites in Washington and the action – 98% on Baltimore– has moved the line to -6.

So, why is there so much action coming in on Baltimore? John Harbaugh tends to absolutely kill in the preseason during Weeks 1,2, and 3 and is 6-5 during Week 4. But over the last couple of seasons, he has gon 5-0 and 4-0 in August, and this seems to be his new trend. Harbaugh is 36-12 over his career in the – pretty impressive. Jay Gruden is 3-2 in Week 4 and is coming off a win over the Falcons. This win is only worth mentioning again because Jay Gruden doesn’t put the same kind of emphasis on preseason wins as Harbaugh. So will he take his foot off the gas?

With his last win, I think he might. That said, the Skins are at home and even though he’ll likely be just trying to work out the kinks in the final roster, Gruden may try to call some aggressive plays to put some points up for the fans. With that said, six points is a lot. However, knowing John Harbaugh’s style, I’m still pretty sure that he’ll lay into the Redskins from the beginning and get enough to cover that number. The Ravens have not scored less than 26 points per game this preseason, topping out at 29 when the blew out the Jaguars.

You can still find the Ravens at -5.5 at a few shops, so if you like betting NFL football, take Baltimore -5.5 as they get their last win before their regular-season opener against the Dolphins in Miami.
