Baltimore Ravens Trade 2020 7th Round Pick for TY Montgomery

The Baltimore Ravens have just landed a steal of a deal getting TY Montgomery from the Green Bay Packers. The Packers in return get a 2020 7th round pick.

This is defiantly a low risk high reward trade with Montgomery only being 25 years old. He is fast, and a dynamic player that can play running back, or wide-receiver.

It was obvious the Packers wanted to move on with Montgomery after he cost them the game last week in a game against the Los Angeles Rams. Montgomery has orders from his coach’s to kneel the ball on a kickoff, and he ran the ball instead that lead to a fumble going in favor of the Rams.

The Ravens will find many ways to use Montgomery in that dynamic offense. Montgomery was a third round pick in 2015 and a former Stanford Cardinals.

Here is the Ravens press release.

RAVENS ACQUIRE RB TY MONTGOMERY VIA TRADE

The Baltimore Ravens acquired RB Ty Montgomery from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for an undisclosed future draft pick, general manager/executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced Tuesday afternoon.

To make room for Montgomery on its 53-man roster, Baltimore terminated the contract of vested veteran LB Albert McClellan.

In his fourth NFL season, Montgomery has registered 1,676 yards from scrimmage (849 rushing on 177 attempts and 827 receiving on 97 catches), scoring 10 total touchdowns (seven rushing and three receiving).

In seven games this season, he has recorded 105 rushing yards and one touchdown on 26 carries, adding 15 receptions for 170 yards.

The 6-foot, 216-pounder also has experience as a kickoff returner, posting 794 yards on 35 returns (22.7 avg.) during his career.

Green Bay originally selected Montgomery out of Stanford in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
