CUMBERLAND, Md. — Allie Knieriem helped the Allegany College of Maryland women’s soccer team rally past WVU Potomac State, 4-3, as the Trojans scored twice in the final three minutes at Trojan Field on Sept. 14, 2026. Knieriem scored twice, while Norah Patterson and Nevaeh Bunbasi delivered the late goals for Allegany College of Maryland.
Knieriem opened the scoring at 5:43 before Carlee Staggs tied the match for WVU Potomac State at 7:54. Knieriem scored again at 38:19 to give Allegany College of Maryland a 2-1 halftime lead.
WVU Potomac State Takes Late Lead
Staggs scored at 70:40 to tie the match before completing her hat trick at 82:05. The two second-half goals put WVU Potomac State ahead 3-2 with the match approaching its final minutes.
Allegany College of Maryland answered late in regulation. Patterson converted a penalty kick at 87:27 to tie the match at 3-3, and Bunbasi scored at 89:26 to give the Trojans the lead with 34 seconds remaining.
Knieriem led Allegany College of Maryland with two goals, while Patterson and Bunbasi each scored their first goals of the season. Staggs scored all three goals for WVU Potomac State.
Allegany College of Maryland Improves to 2-2
The victory improved Allegany College of Maryland to 2-2 overall and gave the Trojans their first conference victory of the season. WVU Potomac State recorded 13 shots on goal, while Allegany College of Maryland finished with 12.
Allegany College of Maryland will visit Carroll Community College at 6 p.m. Sept. 17. The opponent is identified as the Carroll Lynx in the schedule.
