Allegany College of Maryland27s women27s volleyball team split two five-set matches at the Chesapeake Tri-Match on Sept. 12, 2026. The Trojans lost to Frederick Community College, 19-25, 25-19, 23-25, 27-25, 15-13, before defeating Chesapeake College, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-12.
Match vs. Frederick Community College
The Trojans opened the event with a 25-19 first-set win against Frederick Community College. The Cougars answered with a 25-19 victory in the second set, but Allegany College of Maryland regained the lead with a 25-23 third-set win.
Frederick forced a deciding set by taking the fourth, 27-25, then edged the Trojans, 15-13, in the fifth. Allegany College of Maryland finished with 44 assists, 18 service aces and 80 digs while hitting .175 as a team.
Adyson Weyandt recorded 21 kills and 21 digs for a double-double. Chloe DeBlock added 16 kills and 16 digs, while Summer Giffin finished with 10 kills, 10 digs and seven aces. Sophomore setter Allison Angelo contributed 14 assists, 14 digs and five aces, and Jaiden Fradiska added four aces.
Match vs. Chesapeake College
Allegany College of Maryland responded against Chesapeake College by winning the opening set, 25-23. Chesapeake tied the match with a 25-20 second-set victory, but the Trojans took the third set, 25-21.
The Skipjacks forced another deciding set with the 25-23 fourth-set win. Allegany College of Maryland finished the match with a 15-12 fifth-set victory and recorded 27 service aces, 80 digs and 34 assists.
DeBlock led the Trojans with 16 kills and added five aces. Weyandt posted another double-double with 10 kills and 20 digs, while Giffin had 10 kills, 10 digs and eight aces. Angelo finished with 12 assists and 12 digs, and Addison Franz added 10 digs.
Statistical Leaders and Team Totals
Weyandt finished the two-match event with 31 kills and 41 digs. DeBlock totaled 32 kills, 32 digs and six aces, while Giffin recorded 20 kills, 20 digs and 15 aces. Angelo contributed 26 assists, 26 digs and six aces across the two matches.
The Trojans finished the weekend 1-1 after playing 10 sets.
Upcoming Match
Allegany College of Maryland was scheduled to return home Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 5 p.m. for a Region 20 matchup against Potomac State College.
