Addie Scott Earns First CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week Honor of 2026-27 Season

By Brian Hradsky

Towson senior swimmer Addie Scott wasted little time making an impact in the 2026-27 season. The Coastal Athletic Association named Scott its first Women’s Swimmer of the Week of the new season Tuesday following a dominant performance in Towson’s season-opening dual meet against Delaware. The honor is the fourth CAA weekly award of Scott’s career.

Scott opened her senior season by winning three individual events and helping Towson capture a relay victory against the Blue Hens. Although Delaware defeated Towson 193-107 in the women’s team competition, Scott provided several of the biggest highlights of the meet at Burdick Pool. She won the 100-yard freestyle, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle while also contributing to Towson’s victory in the 400 freestyle relay.

Her best performance came in the 200 freestyle. Scott touched the wall in a personal-best 1:46.91, improving on the time she posted while winning the event at the 2026 CAA Championships. The performance also moved Scott into fourth place on Towson’s all-time list in the 200 freestyle.

Scott added another personal record in the 100 freestyle, winning in 50.38 seconds. She completed her individual sweep by taking the 500 freestyle in 4:56.79. Scott then posted a 49.61 split as part of Towson’s victorious 400 freestyle relay team with Emelia Erikson, Ryland Zuniga and Bjartey Gudmundsdottir.

The performance continued what has already been an impressive Towson career for the Nottingham, Pennsylvania, native. Scott earned CAA Women’s Rookie Swimmer of the Year honors during the 2023-24 season and has developed into one of Towson’s top freestyle swimmers. She entered this season as a returning All-CAA performer after earning conference honors in both the 200 and 500 freestyle last season.

Scott was particularly impressive at the 2026 CAA Championships. She won the conference championship in the 200 freestyle and earned silver in the 500 freestyle while also contributing to Towson’s medal-winning relay teams. Her performance helped the Tigers finish third in the women’s team standings as Towson continued to establish itself among the stronger swimming and diving programs in the conference.

The latest honor gives Scott four CAA Swimmer of the Week awards during her career. She earned her first during the 2023-24 season before receiving the award twice last season. Now serving as a team captain, Scott has started her senior campaign with another conference honor.

Towson will return to Burdick Pool on Friday, Oct. 2, when the Tigers host Georgetown. Swimming is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., with diving following at 6 p.m. Towson then travels to Philadelphia the following day for a noon dual meet against La Salle.

MSB Take

Scott could not have asked for a much better individual start to her senior season. Winning three individual races would have been impressive enough, but setting personal records this early in the year makes the performance even more encouraging for Towson.

Her 1:46.91 in the 200 freestyle stands out the most because it was already faster than the time she produced to win a CAA championship last season. Scott is entering her final year as an established conference champion and team captain, but her opening meet suggests there could still be another level for her to reach.

Towson did not get the team result it wanted against Delaware, but Scott gives the Tigers a proven championship-level swimmer to build around. With the conference championships still months away, her opening performance and fourth career CAA weekly honor provide an excellent start to what could be a memorable senior season.
