Washington Spirit forward Claudia Martínez has been called up to the Paraguay Women’s National Team for two away friendlies against El Salvador in San Salvador. The Paraguayan Football Association announced the call-up on Oct. 6, 2026.
Paraguay will face El Salvador at Estadio Cuscatlán on Friday, Oct. 9, at 9:30 p.m. EDT and Monday, Oct. 12, at 10 p.m. EDT. Both matches will take place in San Salvador.
Claudia Martínez’s impact for Paraguay
Martínez made her senior Paraguay debut in July 2024 at age 16. Earlier in 2026, she scored five goals across two matches for Paraguay, including four goals against Bolivia in CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League play.
Since joining the Washington Spirit in January, Martínez has appeared in 23 total matches. She has recorded five goal contributions for the club, four of which have been game-winners.
Washington Spirit set to host Gotham FC
The Washington Spirit will return to Audi Field on Saturday, Oct. 17, when the club hosts Gotham FC at 12:30 p.m. EDT. The Washington, D.C.-based club, plays at Audi Field in Buzzard Point and is an inaugural member of the National Women’s Soccer League.
