Washington Spirit Women’s Soccer Forward Rosemonde Kouassi Called Up for 2028 Ivory Coast Olympic Qualifiers

Washington Spirit forward Rosemonde Kouassi has been called up to the Ivory Coast Women’s National Team for its upcoming 2028 Olympic qualifying matches against D.R. Congo. The teams will meet in a home-and-away fixture on Oct. 9 and Oct. 13.

Ivory Coast’s Olympic Qualifying Schedule

Ivory Coast will visit D.R. Congo on Friday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. EDT at Stade TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi, D.R. Congo. The return match is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. EDT at Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Rosemonde Kouassi’s International Experience

Kouassi made her senior debut for the Ivorian national team during the 2020 Confederation of African Football Women’s Olympic qualifying tournament. Ivory Coast reached the semifinals before losing to eventual runner-up Cameroon.

Kouassi most recently helped Ivory Coast reach the quarterfinals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. She also provided a match-winning assist during the group stage.

Kouassi’s Washington Spirit Production

Kouassi has appeared in 45 total matches for Washington Spirit since joining the club in the summer of 2024. She has recorded 10 goals and 12 assists for the Spirit, including two goals and three assists so far this year.

Kouassi scored twice in May’s continental final against Club América Femenil. Washington Spirit will host Gotham FC at Audi Field on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
