Washington College Women’s Soccer Shuts Out DeSales 3-0 Behind Three Goal Scorers

Washington College women9s soccer defeated DeSales 3-0 on Sept. 30 in Chestertown, Maryland, scoring twice in the first half and once after halftime in a midweek nonconference match. The victory gave Washington College a shutout while improving its record to 5-4-1 overall and 0-2-0 in Centennial Conference play.

Washington College Women9s Soccer Scores Three Times

Sophie Kilbride opened the scoring in the first half, and Kaileigh Brady followed with a goal in the 33rd minute to give Washington College a 2-0 lead. Dafny Vasquez added the final goal in the 73rd minute after the DeSales goalkeeper saved a Brady shot and Vasquez finished the rebound.

Brady finished with one goal and five shots, while Kilbride recorded one goal and three shots. Vasquez added one goal and four shots for Washington College.

Washington College held an 8-4 advantage over DeSales in shots on goal. Rylee Louden played 69:50 in goal and made three saves as the Shorewomen kept DeSales off the scoreboard.

DeSales entered the match with a 1-5-2 overall record and a 0-0-0 Centennial Conference record. Washington College will travel to Ursinus for its next scheduled game at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 in Collegeville.
