The Washington College Sailing Team placed fifth out of nine teams at the Philly Fleet Race on Sept. 26, 2026, at Drexel in Essington, Pennsylvania. The co-ed regatta concluded after one day when a Nor’easter moved across the East Coast.
Washington College completed six races. Division A scored 23 points and recorded its best finish, second place, in the final race, while Division B scored 33 points and recorded three fourth-place finishes.
Salzberg and Ciak Serve as Washington College Skippers
Alex Salzberg served as the Division A skipper, and Nora Ciak served as the Division B skipper. Soledad Fintel, Ethan Rower and Olivia Hall served as crew for Washington College.
Washington College Sailing Team Set for Jesuit Open Regatta
The Shoremen and Shorewomen are scheduled to compete in the Jesuit Open Regatta in the Bronx, New York, on Oct. 3 and 4, 2026. The event follows Washington College’s fifth-place finish at the Philly Fleet Race.
