The Washington College women’s tennis team recorded four victories at the 2026 ITA Southeast Regional held at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Shorewomen secured two wins in doubles and two in singles competition.
Shorewomen Earn Doubles Wins
Jess Wilde and Samy Fawzi Sanchez defeated a team from Centennial Conference rival Gettysburg, 8-4, in the Blue Consolation Quarterfinal. In the same round, Julieta Alvarez and Gaby Coutts bested a pair from Salisbury, 8-3.
Singles Success for Alvarez and Browne
Alvarez added a victory in singles during the Blue 2 Round of 16, defeating an opponent from St. Mary’s (Md.), 6-2, 6-3. Jayda Browne also secured a singles win, topping an opponent from Batten, 6-0, 6-3.
Washington College to Conclude Fall Season at Batten
The Shorewomen will finish their fall schedule Thursday, October 8, with a match at Batten, formerly Virginia Wesleyan. The contest is slated to start at 1 p.m.
