Hood College women’s field hockey fell to Elizabethtown, 3-2 in a shootout, on Sept. 23, 2026, in Elizabethtown, Pa. The teams finished regulation and two scoreless overtime periods tied at 2-2 before Elizabethtown won the shootout, 3-2.
Hood College Field Hockey Erases Two-Goal Deficit
Elizabethtown took a 2-0 lead in the third quarter on two goals from Sara Watson. Bianca Scally answered with her second goal of the season to bring Hood within one.
Sydney Fleming tied the game for Hood in the fourth quarter with her third goal of the season, assisted by Lillie Kodrin. Hood recorded nine shots and earned seven penalty corners in the quarter while holding Elizabethtown without a shot.
Neither team scored during overtime. Emma Massey and Ava Snelsire recorded shots during the first overtime, while Hood earned two penalty corners and two shots in the second overtime.
Elizabethtown Wins Shootout
Ellie Dainton and Emma Numme scored for Hood in the shootout. Sophie Myeres, Carly Schumacher and Kaylie Noel converted for Elizabethtown, with Noel’s attempt securing the victory.
Elizabethtown goalkeeper Lily DeBlasio made seven saves. Hood finished with a 17-6 advantage in shots and led 11-3 in penalty corners.
