Washington College Women’s Volleyball named senior Izzy Diehl its Shorewoman of the Week on Sept. 21, 2026. Diehl set a career high with 26 kills against St. Mary’s (Md.), producing the most kills by a Shorewoman in the 25-point set era.
Diehl hit .472 and averaged 5.22 kills per set across two matches, totaling 47 kills. This marked the second Shorewoman of the Week honor of her career.
Izzy Diehl Sets Washington College Women’s Volleyball Record
Against St. Mary’s (Md.), Diehl hit .571 and recorded 26 kills on 42 attacks. She became the first Shorewoman to reach 26 kills in a match since Katherine O’Brien ’08 recorded 26 against Goucher on Sept. 27, 2007.
Diehl’s 26 kills also marked the most by a Washington College Shorewoman in the 25-point set era, which began in 2008. In Washington College’s four-set victory over Rutgers-Camden, she led all players with 21 kills and hit .383.
Diehl recorded at least 20 kills in both matches. She had five errors on 89 attack attempts across the two-match stretch.
Washington College Women’s Volleyball Schedule
Washington College Women’s Volleyball is scheduled to return to action against Wilson on Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. The upcoming schedule also includes matches against Rutgers-Newark, Immaculata, Goucher, Widener, Gettysburg, Bryn Mawr, Muhlenberg, McDaniel, Ursinus and Trinity (DC).
