Washington College women’s volleyball named sophomore middle hitter Bethany Haughton the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 7-13, 2026. The conference announced the honor Sept. 15, marking the first time Haughton has won the weekly award.
Haughton averaged 1.42 blocks per set in two matches. She recorded five blocks in Washington College’s four-set match at Arcadia on Sept. 9, setting a career best, then matched that total in the Shorewomen’s three-set sweep of Penn State Brandywine on Sept. 12.

Haughton is a sophomore middle hitter from Landsdowne, Pa., who attended Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. Her five blocks against Penn State Brandywine matched the career high she established at Arcadia.
Haughton became the first Washington College women’s volleyball player to earn the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week award since Anna Titter received the honor on Sept. 9, 2025.
Washington College Women’s Volleyball Schedule
Washington College women’s volleyball is scheduled to host St. Mary’s (Md.) on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. The Shorewomen are also scheduled to face Rutgers-Camden at 11 a.m. and Christendom at 3 p.m. on Sept. 19.
The schedule also lists matches against Wilson on Sept. 24, Rutgers-Newark and Immaculata on Sept. 26, Goucher on Sept. 30 and Widener on Oct. 1.
