The D.C. United Foundation will host its fifth annual Golf Classic on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. The event will bring together D.C. United first team players, coaches, ownership, front office staff and corporate partners to raise funds for opportunities and access for young people and families throughout the DMV region.
Golf Classic Supports Foundation Programs
The Golf Classic remains the D.C. United Foundation’s largest fundraiser, according to Shanell Mosley, the foundation’s senior director of community impact and executive director. The 2025 event helped the Golf Classic surpass $1 million raised during its first four years.
“Five years in, our Golf Classic remains our largest fundraiser, but its real power is what it makes possible,” Mosley said. “Funds raised on this day directly support our year-round work, including community events, youth programs and grants awarded to local organizations doing critical work throughout the DMV region. What makes this day special is watching our entire organization come together to play for something bigger than the game itself.”
Funding Provides Soccer Equipment and Youth Opportunities
Funds raised through the event have supported free and adaptive soccer clinics, field revitalizations, mini-pitch builds, Soccer & Soar youth workshops, Season of Giving and the Back to School Bash. The funding also supports United In Play, which provides local teams and nonprofit organizations with soccer equipment.
United In Play supplies items such as soccer balls, shin guards, cleats and sports bras. The D.C. United Foundation focuses on using soccer to reach communities lacking equitable access to important resources and education.
