The Frederick Keys defeated the Asheville Tourists (Astros) 4-2 Friday night at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium, earning their third consecutive win over the Tourists in Game 3 of a six-game series.
Stephen Still Records 10 Strikeouts in 6.2 Innings
Frederick starting pitcher Stephen Still led the way with 10 strikeouts in 6.2 innings. He allowed two runs and recorded his first career Minor League quality start as the Keys secured at least a split of the series.
Andres Nolaya Drives in Two Runs
The Frederick Keys took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning after an Asheville error and an RBI single by Andres Nolaya. The Tourists answered in the top of the third with a two-run home run, tying the game at 2-2.
Frederick regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. A passed ball allowed Braylin Tavera to score from third, and Nolaya followed with his second RBI single of the game to put the Keys ahead 4-2.
Bullpen Holds the Lead
Still recorded a scoreless sixth inning before returning for the seventh. He completed 6.2 innings of two-run ball and recorded his 10th strikeout, keeping the Frederick Keys ahead by two runs.
Bradley Brehmer pitched a scoreless eighth inning, and Braeden Sloan retired the side in order in the ninth to secure the win. The announced attendance at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium was 6,672.
