Frederick Keys Men’s Baseball Defeats Asheville Tourists 6-3 in Jaiden Lo Re’s Debut as the Frederick Keys opened their six-game series with a victory Tuesday night at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. Jaiden Lo Re delivered a three-run home run in his Frederick Keys debut and later added an RBI sacrifice fly, helping the Keys secure a 6-3 win over the Asheville Tourists, an affiliate of the Astros.
The Frederick Keys pitching staff recorded 17 strikeouts for the second consecutive game. The victory marked Frederick’s 73rd win during the last regular-season homestand of the 2026 campaign and came in the teams’ first meeting.
Jaiden Lo Re Gives Frederick Keys Early Lead
Asheville took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI sacrifice fly. Frederick responded with four runs in the bottom half of the inning, including Lo Re’s three-run home run in his Keys debut.
After both teams went scoreless in the second inning, Frederick relief pitcher Christian Rodriguez struck out the side in the top of the third inning. The Keys maintained a three-run lead through three innings.
Asheville scored again in the top of the fifth inning on a throwing error. Frederick answered in the bottom half when Lo Re hit an RBI sacrifice fly and Leandro Arias followed with an RBI double, pushing the Keys ahead 6-2.
Frederick Keys Close Out Series Opener
Both teams were held scoreless in the sixth inning before Chandler Marsh pitched a 1-2-3 top of the seventh. Asheville scored its third run on a solo home run in the top of the eighth, but Marsh finished the inning by retiring the final three batters.
Brendan Parks retired the side in order in the top of the ninth inning, securing the Frederick Keys’ 6-3 victory. The pitching staff finished with 17 strikeouts for the second straight game.
Next Game at Nymeo Field
Game two of the six-game series is scheduled for Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. The game is identified as Wag Wednesday, presented by Mobile Vet Surgery, and Guaranteed Win Wednesday, presented by Musket Ridge Golf Course.
Dogs attending Wednesday’s game must preregister.
