Frederick Keys Beat Jersey Shore BlueClaws (Phillies) 10-9 as Randal Diaz Drives in Five Runs

Frederick Keys beat Jersey Shore BlueClaws (Phillies) 10-9 as Randal Diaz drives in five runs in game two of the six-game series Wednesday afternoon at ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood, New Jersey. Diaz delivered the game-winning RBI single in the top of the ninth inning as the Keys took the first two games of the series on the road.

Randal Diaz Sparks Frederick Keys’ Early Lead

Diaz opened the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning, giving Frederick an early 2-0 advantage. Boston Bateman struck out the side in the bottom of the second for his second consecutive scoreless inning.

The Keys added four runs in the top of the fourth inning. Diaz and Edwin Amparo hit RBI singles, Braylin Tavera produced an RBI groundout, and Fernando Peguero scored on a run-producing play to extend Frederick’s lead to 6-0.

Jersey Shore scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth after an error at third base. A 25-minute rain delay followed the inning, with Frederick leading 6-2.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws Rally to Tie the Score

Leandro Arias hit an RBI single in the top of the fifth inning to give the Keys a 7-2 lead. The BlueClaws scored one run in the bottom of the sixth, but the Keys responded with an RBI triple from Colin Tuft and an RBI sacrifice fly from Diaz to push the lead back to six going into the seventh.

However, Jersey Shore rallied with six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 9-9. The Keys turned a double play in the bottom of the eighth, keeping the score even heading into the ninth inning.

Diaz Delivers the Decisive Hit

Diaz came through again in the top of the ninth inning with an RBI single that put Frederick ahead 10-9. Todd Kniebbe took the mound in the bottom of the ninth after the Keys regained the lead.

Diaz finished with five RBIs, including his first-inning home run, fourth-inning RBI single, RBI sacrifice fly, and decisive ninth-inning single. His performance helped Frederick secure its second road victory of the series.

Next Game

Frederick Keys and Jersey Shore BlueClaws (Phillies) are scheduled to meet Thursday night for game three of the six-game series. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. at ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood.
