The Frederick Keys defeated the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (Phillies) 10-9 on Aug. 5, 2026, at ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood, New Jersey. Randal Diaz drove in five runs, including the game-winning RBI single in the top of the ninth inning, as the Frederick Keys took the first two games of the six-game series on the road.
Randal Diaz Leads Frederick Keys Offense
Diaz opened the scoring with a two-run home run to left field in the first inning. He added an RBI single during Frederick’s four-run fourth inning and later delivered an RBI sacrifice fly in the seventh.
Edwin Amparo hit an RBI single in the fourth, while Braylin Tavera added an RBI groundout. Fernando Peguero also contributed to a run-scoring play as the Frederick Keys built a 6-0 lead.
Boston Bateman struck out the side for his second consecutive scoreless inning in the bottom of the second. Leandro Arias followed with an RBI single in the fifth inning to give the Frederick Keys a 7-2 advantage.
Jersey Shore BlueClaws Rally to Tie the Game
Jersey Shore scored twice in the bottom of the fourth inning following an error at third base. Rain then caused a 25-minute delay before play resumed.
The Jersey Shore BlueClaws scored once in the bottom of the sixth inning. Colin Tuft hit an RBI triple, and Diaz added his sacrifice fly in the seventh to put the Frederick Keys ahead 9-3.
Jersey Shore answered with six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 9-9. The Frederick Keys turned a double play in the bottom of the eighth, keeping the score even heading into the ninth.
Frederick Keys Regain Lead in Ninth Inning
Diaz delivered the decisive hit in the top of the ninth inning, lining an RBI single to put the Frederick Keys ahead 10-9. Todd Kniebbe then took the mound to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning in an attempt to close out the game.
The victory moved the Frederick Keys to 2-0 in the six-game series at Jersey Shore. The teams are scheduled to meet in Game 3 on Aug. 6 at 7:05 p.m. at ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood.
