Ten Terrapins Earn IWLCA Academic Honor Roll Recognition
The University of Maryland women’s lacrosse program continues to prove it is one of the nation’s elite both on the field and in the classroom.
Ten Maryland student-athletes were named to the 2026 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Academic Honor Roll, recognizing juniors, seniors, and graduate students who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. The national honor roll included 1,212 student-athletes from 122 Division I institutions.
For a program that annually competes for national championships under head coach Cathy Reese, the recognition is another example of the culture built in College Park. Success in the classroom has become just as much a part of the Maryland standard as success on the field.
The Terrapins honored were:
- Keeley Block (Graduate) – Management Studies
- Kori Edmondson (Senior) – Criminology & Criminal Justice/Sociology
- Fallon George (Junior) – Public Health Science
- Lauren LaPointe (Junior) – Marketing
- Jordyn Lipkin (Graduate) – Management Studies
- Kennedy Major (Graduate) – Management Studies
- Neve O’Ferrall (Senior) – Management
- Kristen Shanahan (Graduate) – Management Studies
- Maddy Sterling (Graduate) – Management Studies
- JJ Suriano (Graduate) – Management Studies
Several of the honorees also enjoyed outstanding seasons on the field. Edmondson, LaPointe, Sterling, and Suriano all earned IWLCA All-America recognition after helping Maryland reach another NCAA semifinal, highlighting the program’s ability to develop elite student-athletes in every aspect of college life.
Graduate students once again made up the backbone of Maryland’s academic success, with six graduate student-athletes earning recognition. Management Studies was the most common major among the honorees, reflecting the program’s emphasis on preparing players for life beyond lacrosse.

Winning championships remains the expectation for Maryland women’s lacrosse, but this honor illustrates another reason the Terrapins continue to be one of the nation’s premier programs. Academic excellence is woven into the culture established by Cathy Reese and her staff.
Producing 10 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll selections while competing deep into the NCAA Tournament is no small accomplishment. It speaks to the commitment of the players and the support system surrounding the program. Maryland continues to set the standard not only for championships, but for developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel in competition and in the classroom.
