Towson Baseball Reloads Coaching Staff with Three Key Additions Ahead of 2027 Season
TOWSON, Md. — Towson University head baseball coach Shawn Camp continues to shape the future of the Tigers program, announcing the additions of Kyle Disher, Matt McGowan, and Zach Kahler to the coaching staff as the program prepares for the 2027 season. The trio brings a combination of collegiate coaching experience, player development expertise, recruiting success, and professional baseball knowledge to Towson’s dugout.
The hires come during an important offseason for the Tigers following the retirement of longtime head coach Matt Tyner and the arrival of Camp, who is assembling a new staff focused on building a championship culture in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Kyle Disher Brings Pitching Expertise
Disher joins Towson with a reputation for developing pitchers and helping build competitive collegiate staffs. Throughout his coaching career, he has worked with numerous pitchers who have earned conference honors while emphasizing strike throwing, command, and player development.
His experience is expected to play a major role in strengthening the Tigers’ pitching staff as Towson looks to become a contender in the CAA.
Matt McGowan Adds Offensive and Recruiting Experience
McGowan arrives with extensive experience coaching hitters while also serving as a successful recruiter. His ability to identify talent and help position players maximize their offensive production gives Towson another valuable asset as the Tigers continue rebuilding their roster.
