Navy’s Hoke Smith II to Wear No. 68 in Honor of Fallen Teammate David Forney

Forney, a senior offensive lineman on Navy’s outstanding 2019 team, tragically passed away on February 20, 2020, after being found unresponsive in Bancroft Hall. He was just 22 years old. A native of Walkersville, Maryland, and graduate of Georgetown Prep, Forney earned three varsity letters and started all 39 games over his final three seasons while helping lead the Midshipmen to an 11-2 record and a Liberty Bowl championship during his senior campaign.
