WrestleMania 35: Psychopaths to Samoans, Olympians To Thuganomics It Was IIconic

Wrestlemania 35 had a little bit of everything. Scottish psychopaths, wild Samoans, Olympic gold medalists, wrestling rock stars and a doctor of thuganomics and it was absolute;y IIconic.

Kurt Angle vs. A Corporate Bum
Kurt Angle the Olympic gold medalist wrestler who competed and won with a broken freaking neck was set to take part in his last WWE match ever at WrestleMania 35. Baron Corbin the proverbial thorn in Angles side was his opponent. Everyone expected Angle to go out in style a celebration fitting of an Olympic hero. Nah let’s just job him out to a bum who hasn’t gotten over not one little bit with his new corporate gimmick. WWE fans didn’t want that match they all wanted Cena vs Angle, knowing Angle started off the Cena era in WWE who better to end Angle’s? Instead we got a bum like Corbin going over on a WWE iconic figure like Kurt Angle. Thanks for nothing asshats!!
Winner: We all lost on this one!!

Women’s Tag Team Titles
Two great tag teams from the present and one great tag team from the past and one tag team who’s work is adequate at best and gets pushed down our throats. Okay sounds about right and should make for an entertaining match. The IIconics vs Sasha & Bayley vs Natalya and Beth Phoenix vs Nia & Tamina. About the only entertaining thing Nia and Tamina gave us was a double Samoan drop. Bayley took to the air with a beautiful flying elbow and Banks landing a nice frog splash. Natalya hooked a double sharpshooter on Peyton and Billie Kay as they scrambled in survival mode trying not to tap out. The Glamazon hit a huge avalanche glam slam on Banks but the IIconics stole her thunder from down under and swept in for the pin and the win. Overall a fun match and the surprising finish and underdog champions was a great touch.
Winner: The IIconics “And New” Women’s Tag Team Champions

Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre
This match has better hype than it did fight. The build for this one was good and I think the fans were expected to see these two big men wage a war that would give them goosebumps. For me the only thing that was goosebumps worthy was McIntyre coming down the ramp to the NYPD playing the bag pipes. The match was basic and you could see hoe it would all end pretty clearly as Drew beatdown Roman like a dog during the match. Roman hit a nice Samoan drop on the floor and proceeded to end it with a Superman punch and a spear for the pin and the win. Truthfully I have seen the Scottish Psychopath take more and kick out on RAW. Match didn’t come close to the hype but it was great to see Roman get a win at Mania after all he has been through.
Winner: Roman Reigns

Elias Sells Out Met Life Stadium
First off props to the WWE and Elias for setting up the three piece display with Elias on all three instruments. Well thought out and very well done I loved it. Furthermore kudos for whoever decided that it was finally time for the Dr of Thuganomics to return that was brilliant. When that old familiar tune rang out across the stadium on the speakers people in my house lost their minds lol. Well done Cena you had the fans back where you wanted them and you looked great doing it. Welcome back that heel like Cena and Dr of Thuganomics Winner: ALL of us!!
