Washington Capitals Defeat Minnesota Wild 5-2

After operation free Willy was complete the Washington Capitals defeat Minnesota Wild 5-2. The Capitals looked like they had an extra spark that was missing in recent games, and Tom Wilson brought that today.

On his return Tom Wilson scores the second goal of the game crashing the net hard and scoring a gritty goal something that has been missing from the Capitals all season. Wilson also did what he does best and dropped the gloves in the third period fighting Marcus Folingo.

This was probably one of the best games the Capitals have played all season they where hitting everyone, out shot the Wild, did a great job killing penalties and just played a great game dominating one of the best teams in the NHL.

Dimitri Orlov was our number one star of the game ending his night with three points (2 goals, 1 assist) and two blocked shots. Orlov looked confident and played defensively well finishing the night at a +3.

Phoenix Copley was in net tonight and played another great game. The rookie finished the night with 26 saves, and added another win to his young NHL career.

Only criticism I could say as a former goalie in his game is his rebound control. Copley gave up a lot of rebounds, but his defensemen cleared them out of the way, and he fought hard to cover them up.

Copley made a lot of acrobatic saves and looked confident in net. He’s looking to be the next Philip Grubauer of this team.

Andre Burakovsky got his second goal of the year finding a rebound in front of the net. Burakovsky has been taking a lot of heat by the media with only two points on the year, but he shut up the haters and scored a goal when his team needed it.

Last, but not least TJ Oshie scores the final goal of the game. Oshie now has eight goals this year, and is silently having one of the best starts of his NHL career.

The Capitals now have a record of 8-6-3 and take on a good Winnipeg Jets team tomorrow night.
