Washington Capitals Beat Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1

The Washington Capitals have defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in a close game that went to the final minute. For one today was TJ Oshie’s night, but was also not his night for his head.

Oshie in his third shift of the game got hit with a high stick that cut his nose, and injured his right eye that caused him to miss the majority of the first period. After returning in the second period Oshie was later hit by a dirty elbow to the head from Evgeny Malkin that caused Oshie to miss almost the entire third period.

The hit was a five-minute major that lead to an ejection. Oshie later showed Pittsburgh true karma when returning with three minutes left in the game and scored the game winner with a minute left in a game.

The Pittsburgh Penguins started the scoring tonight with a goal from “The Girl” Sidney Crosby while Pittsburgh Penguins where on the power play. Later Alex Ovechkin scores a goal from a rocket of a shot from his office while the Capitals where on the power play with minutes left in the first period.

Braden Holtby was the star of tonight making incredible save acrobatic saves all night letting in one goal on 42 shots. Holtby made a lot of big saves while the Capitals where shorthanded, and played one of the best games of his careers.

Tonight was a great win for the Capitals the referees where against the Capitals all night missing a lot of calls including the high-stick on Oshie. At least the referees made the right call on Malkin’s elbow on Oshie.

Victory tasted sweet tonight in DC with pure karma from Oshie coming back from the dead, and winning this game tonight.
