Vanecek get the first Shutout of the Season, Hershey beats Milwaukee 3-0

In their first matchup since the 2006 Calder Cup playoffs, the Hershey Bears comes out on top against the Milwaukee Admirals at home. The first period started with Aaron Ness scoring his first goal of the season in Hershey. Chris Bourque’s pass to Ness would get him an assist on the play as Ness fired a shot past Admirals’ netminder Juus Saros making the game 1-0 at 10:09 in the period. Tyler Lewington would also gain yet another point this weekend with his third assist in two games.

At 17:03 in the second period Mathias Bau would get his seventh goal of the season with the help of Wayne Simpson and Zach Sill. It would be the only goal of the third period as Hershey out shot Milwaukee 26-13 in the first two periods.

In the third period Milwaukee would pull their goalie for the 6 man advantage. With 1:10 left in the game Jonas Siegenthaler would score on the empty net making the winning score 3-0. This would get Vitek Vanecek his 6th career shutout as he stopped all 21 shots he would see during the game. The Bears outshot the Admirals 29-21, brining their record to 10-10-0-3. Hershey will finish a busy three game weekend tonight at the Giant Center as we take on the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins in a matchup that will celebrate Hershey’s Annual Teddy Bear Toss. Hershey fans will attempt to break the world record for most teddy bears tossed, puck drops at 7pm.
