University of Maryland, Baltimore County Women’s Volleyball produced three America East Conference weekly award winners after a weekend that included a four-set victory over Georgetown. Natalie Harris earned Rookie of the Week, Isabel Ostvig received Setter of the Week, and Hannah Howard was named Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Natalie Harris Delivers Career-Best Performance
Harris recorded a match and career-best 19 kills in her first-ever start during the four-set win over Georgetown on Sunday, September 13. She also posted 12 kills in four sets against George Washington on Saturday, September 12.
Harris averaged 3.44 kills per set for the weekend, securing the America East Rookie of the Week honor.
Hannah Howard Leads Defensive Production
Howard recorded 27 digs in the five-set loss to George Mason on Friday, September 11, before adding 25 digs in four sets against Georgetown. She averaged 5.08 digs per set for the weekend.
Howard also contributed 20 assists and eight aces during the weekend. Against Georgetown, she added six assists and four aces in the four-set victory.
Isabel Ostvig Posts Strong Weekend at Setter
Ostvig recorded 48 assists, 11 digs and three blocks in the four-set win over Georgetown. She added 40 assists and 10 digs against George Mason, followed by 35 assists and nine digs against George Washington.
Her weekend performance earned Ostvig the America East Setter of the Week award alongside Harris and Howard.
University of Maryland, Baltimore County Women’s Volleyball Schedule
The Retrievers were scheduled to continue their season with road matches at Villanova and Temple. University of Maryland, Baltimore County Women’s Volleyball was set to play at Villanova on Friday, September 18, at 7 p.m., followed by a match at Temple on Saturday, September 19, at 4 p.m.
