University of Maryland, Baltimore County women’s soccer rallied past New Hampshire 2-1 on Sept. 27, 2026, at Retriever Soccer Park. Delainey Proctor scored the game-winning goal in the 58th minute and assisted on Brooke Clagett’s equalizer in the America East Conference victory.

UMBC entered the match with a 7-3-2 overall record and a 1-1 America East record. New Hampshire came in at 3-5-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

New Hampshire Takes Halftime Lead Despite UMBC Chances

UMBC created several chances during the opening half but could not convert. Brooke Clagett tested New Hampshire goalkeeper Sonja Zeepvat in the sixth minute, while Gabby Larson sent a shot narrowly wide in the 29th minute.

New Hampshire took a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute when Madison Donati scored on an assist from Elizabeth Finn. Donati’s goal gave the visitors the advantage at halftime.

Second-Half Comeback: UMBC Scores Twice to Secure the Win

Clagett tied the match nine minutes into the second half. After a give-and-go with Proctor, Clagett beat her defender along the right end line, cut toward the middle, and slid to the ground to finish the play. The goal was Clagett’s fifth of the season.

Proctor put UMBC ahead in the 58th minute. Olivia Nardone started the sequence with a cross from the left side, and after the ball deflected to Proctor, the sophomore midfielder scored from 25 yards out.

New Hampshire played down a player for the final 20 minutes after a red card but still created one late opportunity, with Elizabeth Finn sending a shot from 35 yards just over the crossbar.

UMBC Dominates Shots and Holds On to Win

UMBC finished with a 14-10 advantage in shots. Amara Codd made two saves for UMBC, while Zeepvat recorded four saves for New Hampshire.

Proctor’s goal was her second game-winning goal of the season. The Retrievers will travel to NJIT on Thursday evening for their next contest.
