University of Maryland, Baltimore County Women’s Basketball sophomore Heidi Williams earned a place on the America East Preseason All-Conference Team after a productive freshman season. Williams, a native of Prince George’s County, Maryland, played in all 32 games and made 20 starts for the Retrievers.
Williams also made the America East All-Rookie Team and earned America East Rookie of the Week honors six times. Those six honors tied Sara Tarbert for the most in University of Maryland, Baltimore County program history.
Heidi Williams posted strong freshman numbers
Williams averaged 9.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game as a freshman. She scored in double figures in 15 games and set a career high with 22 points on Jan. 24 against UMass Lowell.
Williams recorded three double-doubles, including one against Notre Dame (Md.) and two against UAlbany. She also scored the seventh-most points, recorded the fourth-most steals and made the seventh-most field goals in University of Maryland, Baltimore County freshman history.

Williams and the Retrievers are scheduled to open the 2026-27 season against Stevenson on Nov. 2. The season opener will begin Williams’ sophomore campaign after her selection to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team.
