UMES Basketball vs. Cairn Preview

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Men’s Basketball team is home Saturday, November 11 at 3 pm for a game against Cairn University. UMES (0-1) dropped its first game on the road at Temple 85-65. Cairn (1-0) is coming off of a 10 point victory over Penn State Brandywine on November 9th.

Junior Chace Davis is coming off of a great opening day performance, registering 15 points and 2 rebounds in the loss. Junior Troy Hupstead had a great day on the boards with 10 rebounds to accompany his 8 points and 1 assist. Rounding out the strong statistical showings was sophomore Damani Claxton with 4 assists, 3 rebounds and 10 points.

UMES will look to neutralize strong play from Cairn’s Derian Bradford who put up 26 points against Penn State Brandywine. Maryland Eastern-Shore will need to use its size to out-rebound Cairn and create second chances while also staying out of foul trouble early.

UMES has 13 out-of-conference games before they begin MEAC play on January 6th.
