Towson Enters Do-Or-Die Semifinal Against Charleston

Towson’s season hangs in the balance as they faceoff against College of Charleston for the 3rd time tonight. Charleston is the only CAA opponent to sweep the Tigers in the regular season, setting up a monstrous hill to climb mentally. Towson led the majority of their last matchup, only to give up a double-digit and lose by eight. The Cougars could lose this game and still have potential for an at-large bid; Towson needs to win out in order to make the NCAA field.

Alright y’all, here we go again. It’s been a season full of ups and downs for Towson, and the Boys of the Beltway need to lay the smackdown against Charleston like they did against Delaware last night. This team has been the Achilles heel to what was supposed to be the best team in several decades on Charles Street.

For what felt like the first time all season, Towson’s big three stepped up in a major way in their first game against the Blue Hens. Thompson, Holden and Timberlake combined for 50 of the Tigers 86 points. Sekou Sylla finally looked like a former D-II Player of the Year by adding 16 off the bench. The defense was stout all night. Most importantly, the game is on CBS Sports Network instead of that garbage company Flo Hoops so we can actually watch this game!

I don’t know what to expect tonight, but I have already started giving myself several doses of Copium in order to deal with what seems like inevitable heartbreak. Should the Tigers win tonight, it would feel all too appropriate for them to fall flat in the conference title game against Hofstra or UNCW. It would also be a perfect microcosm of my life as a sports fan for them to lose in heartbreaking fashion tonight. I am begging the sports gods… GIVE A GUY A BREAK PLEASE!

The Tigers have had some massive regular season games; it’s the life of living in a 1-bid conference. All of those games, every win, loss, struggle, success, it all comes down tonight. Win and live to fight one more night, or go home empty handed. It’s March, and the Madness has already begun in our nation’s capital.

Also, screw it, take the over 149.5. In this house, we root for points.
