There’s no place like home: Mystics look to keep the Mercury cool

The Mystics at back at the ESA after a three-game road trip. The Mystics took so far, their most disappointing loss to the Indiana Fever. Friday is an opportunity to regroup against the Phoenix Mercury.

The Keys to Victory!

Rebounding the Ball

Washington against Indiana did not have the greatest game handling the boards. The Mystics were outrebounded by eighteen. Brittney Griner is out due to a hip injury; however, Phoenix does have other players on their bench that are capable of filling in the gap.

Half-court offense

For a team that has capable shooters, the Mystics ranked ninth in pace of offense in the league. I know that is a minuscule stat but, the half-court offense for the Mystics has its moments. Other than Elena Della Donne and Shakira Austin, the guard play has not been consistent.

Defense must be the toner setter

Washington tuesday night surrendered forty points in the paint. As the reigning #1 ranked defense that can’t happen. Boxing out, not allowing foul trouble.
