Stevenson University women’s volleyball lost to the University of Scranton and St. John Fisher University on Sept. 26 at the Hopkins Invitational, falling 3-0 to Scranton and 3-2 to St. John Fisher at the Newton H. White Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Logan Burge led Stevenson with 16 kills and a .536 hitting percentage against St. John Fisher University and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Stevenson finished the day with an 8-5 overall record and a 2-0 mark in MAC Commonwealth play. The Mustangs return to action Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. at York College (Pa.) for MAC Commonwealth action.
Stevenson University Women’s Volleyball Falls to University of Scranton
The University of Scranton defeated Stevenson in three sets, 25-20, 25-19 and 25-19. Sydney Salazar led Stevenson with eight kills while hitting .294, and Autumn Henry added four kills. Burge and Maren Zepfel recorded three kills apiece, while Lillianna Hornickle finished with two.
Courtney Foose led Stevenson with 11 assists, and Declyn Tooze added nine. Rachel Lenz paced the defense with 21 digs, while Lilly Eichelberger contributed six. Stevenson finished the match with 21 kills, 50 digs and six team blocks.
Logan Burge Leads Five-Set Battle Against St. John Fisher University
Stevenson won the first and third sets against St. John Fisher University, 25-21 and 25-22, but the Cardinals took the second and fourth sets, 25-21 and 25-22. St. John Fisher then won the fifth set 15-5 to secure the 3-2 victory.
Burge led the Stevenson attack with 16 kills and a .536 hitting percentage. Lenz and Zepfel each added seven kills, while Salazar finished with six kills and three block assists. Hornickle contributed five kills and three block assists as Stevenson totaled 46 kills and eight team blocks.
Tooze led Stevenson with 21 assists, and Foose recorded 14. Eichelberger posted a team-high 30 digs, followed by Lenz with 19 and Terra with 12. Stevenson also finished with 63 digs and six service aces.

Stevenson University women’s volleyball will travel to York College (Pa.) on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. for a MAC Commonwealth match. Stevenson enters the match with a 2-0 conference record.
