Stevenson University Women’s Soccer Earns 2-0 Win as Madison Simard Scores First Career Goal

Stevenson University women’s soccer defeated Penn State Abington 2-0 Tuesday evening at Owings Mills East in Owings Mills, Maryland. Madison Simard scored her first career goal, and Stevenson scored once in each half while holding a 27-5 advantage in shots.

Simard put Stevenson ahead at the 8:49 mark of the first half on an assist from Courtney Keehner. Stevenson carried the 1-0 lead into halftime after outshooting Penn State Abington 12-1 during the opening 45 minutes.

Stevenson University Women’s Soccer Adds Second Goal

Stevenson doubled its lead at 56:25 when Nyla Behram scored on another assist from Keehner. Keehner recorded assists on both Stevenson goals.

Behram and Karly Sheahan led Stevenson with four shots each, while Kailyn Beall put all three of her attempts on target. Stevenson also held an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Sophia Valenzano played all 90 minutes in goal and made two saves for the shutout.

Next Match for Stevenson University Women’s Soccer

Stevenson is scheduled to travel to Alvernia University on Friday, Oct. 9, for a 7 p.m. MAC Commonwealth matchup against the Goldenwolves.
