Stevenson University Women’s Field Hockey Improves to 9-0 Behind Kailen Hibshman’s Three Assists

Stevenson University Women’s Field Hockey improved to 9-0 behind Kailen Hibshman’s three assists in a 3-0 shutout of St. Mary’s College of Maryland on Sept. 30 in Owings Mills, Maryland. The No. 6 Mustangs recorded their eighth shutout of the season.

Stevenson Scores Three Times

Gracyn Catalano opened the scoring at 10:25 with an assist from Hibshman. Coco Wallace doubled Stevenson’s lead at 32:06 by scoring on a penalty-corner opportunity assisted by Lauren Schulz and Hibshman.

Shae Bennett completed the scoring with less than five minutes remaining, converting another assist from Hibshman. Bennett, Catalano and Wallace each recorded two points, while Schulz added one assist.

Mustangs Hold St. Mary’s Without a Shot

Stevenson dominated the offensive statistics, outshooting St. Mary’s College of Maryland by a 19-0 margin, including a 10-0 edge in shots on goal. Hibshman finished with three assists and three points, while Jordan Vradenburgh started in goal and earned her fourth shutout of the season.

Stevenson will host Alvernia University on Saturday at noon in its first MAC Commonwealth game. The contest will also promote Breast Cancer Awareness.

Maryland Sports Blog Take

Stevenson University Women’s Field Hockey combined three goals with a dominant defensive performance to remain unbeaten. Hibshman assisted on every goal, and the Mustangs’ 9-0 record and eight shutouts provide a strong start to the season.
